America Place, the Jeffersonville development firm that already is the largest private land owner at River Ridge Commerce Center, has made its biggest purchase yet at the Southern Indiana business park.
The News and Tribune reports that the company bought 84.5 acres in the east end of the Jeffersonville park for $5.4 million in a deal that closed Nov. 18.

The new $25 million office and retail development by America Place, will have modern… more
Before the purchase, America Place owned more than 170 acres at River Ridge.
The company broke ground in April on an 11-acre office and retail center next to the Amazon.com Inc. fulfillment center at the business park. (It has an unusual "art-inspired" design, which you can see in the attached slideshow.)
America Place also is developing a business park at River Ridge that has three finished buildings, including a 150,0000-square-foot building leased by automotive supplier Tenneco Inc. A second 200,000-square-foot building is occupied by snack foods company Enjoy Life Foods.
A third building of roughly 252,000 square feet has been finished but has not gained a tenant.
The News and Tribune also reports that a committee of the River Ridge Development Authority is reviewing four proposals from companies to create a strategic plan. It would outline the next 10 or more years for the business park, including plans for the commerce center’s 1,547-acre megasite, its infrastructure and land on its north end.
