Indiana's three ports in Burns Harbor, Mount Vernon and Jeffersonville are all connected by the Inland Waterway System via the Ohio, Mississippi and Illinois rivers. This also gives Indiana's ports year-round access to international ships in New Orleans.

Rail

CSX
CSX maintains a switching yard adjacent to River Ridge Commerce Center and another in Louisville, KY just minutes from the site.

Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co.
Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co. maintains a switching yard in Jeffersonville and interchanges with CSX, Indiana Rail Road and Norfolk Southern in Louisville.

Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co. provides service to Southern Indiana from Louisville to Indianapolis
Indiana Rail Road Co. provides service from southern Indiana and Louisville north to Terre Haute and Indianapolis.

Norfolk Southern
Norfolk Southern maintains a switching yard in New Albany, Indiana, 10 rail miles from River Ridge.  Piggyback service is available at Norfolk Southern’s intermodal yard in Louisville (Buechel, KY.), about 10-15 minutes from River Ridge.

These carriers provide interchanges with Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Indiana Rail Road, Paducah & Louisville and CP Rail System/Soo Line.

Clark Regional Airport

The Clark Regional Airport serves Clark County, Indiana, and is owned by the Clark County Board Aviation Commission. The airport has two runways. The longest is a paved runway extending 5,500 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 474 feet and is at a distance of about 5 miles north of Jeffersonville. There is currently a project underway taking an existing runway to 7,000 feet.

Louisville International Airport

Just 25 minutes from River Ridge, the Louisville International Airport is a low-fare airport that draws travelers within a 200-mile radius of the city. The airport now has nonstop service to more than 22 destinations and convenient connections to cities worldwide. The airport accommodated almost 3.4 million passengers in 2016.

Louisville International ranks third in North America—and seventh in the world—in the total amount of cargo handled as home of United Parcel Service (UPS) World Port, international air-sorting hub. The airport handled more than 5 billion pounds of cargo, freight and mail in 2016.

Airport Statistics

Louisville International is situated on approximately 1,500 acres. The passenger terminals comprise more than 360,000 sq. ft. and have 24 boarding gates. The airport offers 5,957 public parking spaces — including a 4-level parking garage, with three levels under cover and a convenient credit-card-only parking lot next to the passenger terminal.

The airport consists of two parallel runways, one crosswind runway and more than 62,000 linear feet of taxiways. Aircraft operations (take offs and landings) totaled 148,429 in 2014.
