JEFFERSONVILLE (May 26, 2018) – More than a dozen Boy Scouts from Clarksville worked alongside representatives of the River Ridge Development Authority during Memorial Day weekend to begin restorations and repairs at a historic cemetery at River Ridge Commerce Center.
River Ridge provided support for an Eagle Scout project organized by Brandon Cahill, an Eagle Scout Candidate with Boy Scout Troop #4010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville. Cahill planned the project to refurbish an area of historical value by restoring the stone fencing around Barnett Cemetery. Barnett Cemetery came into existence in the early 1800s, with burials dating back to 1824.
About 20 scouts participated in the project, which also includes placement of a new sign at the site with historical information.
