JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – May 4, 2021- Kroger Health, the healthcare division of The Kroger Company, plans to expand its regional Central Fill facility at a new location at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville, Ind. The facility, which will be named Jeffersonville Central Fill, will expand to 58,000 square feet compared with its current size of 11,000 square feet. The Jeffersonville Central Fill will service the Kroger Company family of pharmacies in the region.  The company opened its first Central Fill facility in 2000, and now operates 4 locations across the country.  Kroger central fill pharmacy support has shown to increase store pharmacy service levels, efficiencies, and allows frontline pharmacy staff more time to focus on clinical and customer services.  Kroger’s new Central Fill facility will utilize McKesson technology powered by the Sanitas® Pharmacy Control System.

“We are thankful for such a long and rewarding partnership with the city of Louisville and we’re glad we could keep our new location in the Greater Louisville area,” said Colleen Lindholz, President of Kroger Health. “The expansion of the facility will allow our team to support the community at an even greater level. Additional resources have never been more important for our pharmacy staff members as they continue to serve a critical role in the administration of the COVID-19 vaccinations.”

The expansion will allow for the creation of 60 new jobs. The current facility employs 115 associates who will all have the opportunity to transfer to the new facility.

“We are pleased Kroger Health has selected River Ridge Commerce Center as the new site where it will expand its Central Fill facility,” said River Ridge Executive Director Jerry Acy. “Kroger is such an important part of our community, and we value the important products and services they deliver every day. River Ridge welcomes Kroger to Jeffersonville, where they will join a growing cluster of medical and bio-pharma operations that have selected River Ridge Commerce Center as their new home.”

“The health of Indiana’s economy continues to progress when companies like Kroger Health decide to expand and grow here,” said Interim Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Staton. “The state’s fourth consecutive record-breaking year of economic development demonstrates to companies that Indiana provides a supportive environment along with qualified, professional talent. We look forward to support Kroger Health here for years to come.”
